The Block...

A unique high density polystyrene building block that is strong, lightweight, flexible and multi useful (W11cm x H25cm x L50cm) compartmented into four cavities with two interconnecting holes and bordered around by a “bulging rail formation” to allow for each brick to be glued to next.

It can be easily altered by gluing two bricks side by side and stripping out the middle “rail” section, turning it into a double brick wall of 22cm wide. By the same token, a third brick can be added making it a triple brick wall of 33cm wide.

Can have a sectional cut along both sides of the cavities and then be glued vertically; allowing for in-built piers to be constructed either vertically or horizontally in the form of supportive beams which excludes the need for timber framing.

Can be filled with concrete, lightweight composite aggregates or expanded foam, depending on the requirements of specific aims.

It allows for steel/aluminium frame to be assembled within the wall as it is being built.

Because of its simple design it does not require much more then glue and the necessary cutting tools to proceed with the project, making the task uncomplicated. The walls can be erected all around up to the ceiling level (with the door and window frames and other features incorporated) prior to concrete filling.

A common concern associated with polyurethane construction systems has to do with the risk of bursting due to the accumulative pressure of concrete in the pouring stage. That is not the case with “Toptex Smart Brick” due to its unique design, by the way it  is conveniently compartmented and cleverly balanced in its configuration.

Once the walls have been erected, externally meshed and prime-rendered, the concrete filling can then be executed at once all the way to the top, non stop. And there you have it, a crack free wall.

By building a single brick wall we will be building an internal wall. By constructing a double brick wall we will be making an external wall and by making a triple brick wall we will be building a floor slab. Rooves may only require a single brick wall.

Single brick walls are held together by a simple bracing process that involves slot cuts on both sides of the brick wall at regular intervals where mesh straps are then tied from side to side in both directions which in turn will be secured by the rendered mesh layer that overlaps the entire wall of both sides
